Our Free Cafe Service
The project that started the Fed Up Community Cafe. Started originally in 2018 after a Community Christmas Meal. Now open 5 days a week helping feed those in need in our community.

The Fed Up Community Cafe’s main core service is to provide free meals to those who need it. This doesn’t mean those who struggle with their finances. It is also for people who live on their own with loneliness or social isolation. Our service is a blanket free service, but those who are able to give a little something, can do through donating.
We offer free breakfasts, such as pancakes or toast in the mornings, kindly donated by Simpsons Bakery. These are served until 11.00am, where we change from Breakfast to our lunch service.
Open Monday to Friday – 9.30am to 2.30pm
Lunch is served from 12.00pm until 2.00pm and we aim to give a hearty 3 course meal that will set you up for the day. Our menus for the cafe are produced daily and are made from the donations from our local businesses, community and Fareshare.
While you are visiting us, take advantage of our help service, where we can help you find that additional support you may have. This could be direction to get help with housing, or support with getting the right help for your mental health. But please note, we are not professionals, so we can only point you to the right place to get help
A little bit of history
Back in December 2017, a few member of the community got together and ran a Christmas meal for those who would be on their own over Christmas or would not be able to afford a Christmas Dinner. After this successful event, a small committee of people got together and through the Community Reuse Shop, the idea of the Fed Up Community Cafe was born.
From there The Fed Up Cafe became its own registered charity and now operates from our premises on Bridge Street, Stranraer.
We have started growing organically and listen to what the community needs, which is why we now offer additional service of the Community Larder, Mobile Meals and our Employability Learning Hub.
